Community Awareness Task Force

The Community Awareness Task Force is part of Healthy Pima’s Substance Misuse & Mental Health Alliance that works to increase public awareness on the effects of substance misuse, highlight available mental and behavioral health services, and reduce stigmatization for all residents in Pima County.

The Community Awareness Task Force goals for 2018-2021 are to:

  • To reduce access to and dependence on prescription medications and illicit substances in Pima County.

  • Encourage adoption of best practice guidelines by Pima County prescribers and pharmacists.

  • Increase awareness and education on the effects of substance misuse among residents of Pima County.


The Community Awareness Task Force meetings the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 2-3pm in Room 1104 at the Abrams Public Health Center, located at 3950 S Country Club Rd. Tucson, AZ.

Next Meeting: Wednesday, January 23, 2018 from 10-11am at Abrams Public Health Center: Room 3110.

  • Please note that the Alliance Task Force meetings will be held on the same/date and time in January. Normal task force meetings will resume in February, 2019.
